Cruise liners are a common sight in the Cayman Islands. There are currently proposals to develop a new berthing facility on Grand Cayman, which would significantly increase the capacity of the port to receive cruise ship visitors. While some have supported these plans on economic grounds, others have argued that the environmental impact of increased marine traffic and visitor numbers would outweigh any benefits.
